I have the winter blues!
I need help! I am running out of things to do with Landon in our little Pittsburgh house during these cold, dreary, grey, wintry months. I try to get out and run errands as much as possible so that we can get out of the house for a bit which helps but I need some advice on what to do with a 9 month old while at home? So this is for all the stay at home moms! Help! I don't know how many more days I can handle the same banging of spoons on cups and rolling of the Elmo ball! Man, I never knew being a stay at home mom would be so hard. If anyone wants to have a play date around 11:30/noon, I'm in!!!! Oh, please summer...come soon!

Ti gets better as they get older... and of course summer really does help... then again, eating grass/dirt is not always the funnest thing :)
Do you have any snow? Even though he is small he may really love to be pulled around the park on a sled all bundled up. Just a thought.... or even walking around the local mall in the stroller. :) I so understand the cabin fever bit!
Yesterday i took the kids out and made a snowman with them.... that helped quite a bit... then again The Energizer Bunny was down for a nap... though I'm sure he would have loved it. He is fascinated with the snow.
Hope you can find a great playgroup!
I am going to walk the mall some time this week and will give you a ring. Noon works best for me...maybe tomorrow or Thursday?
well in PGH there isn't too much to do inside except the play place at the mall. I used to take Luke shopping and just walk around old navy or whatever just to get out of the house. Even if you aren't getting anything I think we both felt better after we went somewhere/ anywhere.
Go ahead and get pregnant again! Thats what I do when I get bored. Makes for an exciting and busy life. :)
Yes I ditto Tara LOL Wish we lived closer maybe we'll both end up in Idaho Falls soon! I hate Nampa for tyhe same reason nothing to do inside and five kids under eight doesn't make for a fun shopping experience!
Oh, have you let him finger paint in pudding and shaving cream, made edible play dough, built a tent and roasted microwave marsh mellows, toilet papered a room, played with and popped balloons, danced to music, parachutes out of sheets, learn sign language, also there are a lot of ideas on the church website http://www.lds.org/hf/display/0,16783,4235-1,00.html you'll have to copy and paste that address. Let me know if any of those helps.
I'm so sorry u are bored.. i get cabin fever tooo with three kids.... I know it's harder in the winter cause it's cold..... I do try to take them in the summer to the park... They love the outdoors alot..... Just wish I had a back yard... They could play out there.... My ward did have a play group but the day it was on I had something already planned.. Hopefully I can try when they bring it back..... Cause I will have two in school this fall.. Wow!!!! Then I will be really bored with just one... ha ha lol
Um, watch movies? I got nothin'. Aubrey had some good ideas, though.
I hear yah! malls are about the only option it seems! And I'm up for that whenever!
Our ward has a playgroup that all the moms with young children take turns hosting at there home once a week. I loved doing that with friends when my girls were young. It was more for the moms than for the kids sometimes.
I made "baby magazines" for my girls that used up some time and were fun to make (and fun for them to play with). I used an inexpensive photo album and put pictures I had cut out of magazines in the plastic sleeves and then put clear packing tape on the top to seal in the pictures. They loved crinkling the pages of their own magazine.
When he's crawling - get a large cardboard box with open ends as a tunnel to crawl through. Sit on one side of the tunnel to coax him through. Take a turn crawling through yourself, it's lots of fun! =) Make an obstacle course with pillows and tunnels.
